award for 7½ john wood street

7 ½ John Wood Street has been "highly commended" in the Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum Awards for Best Practice.

Local representatives from the centre's advisory group were presented with the award by Des McNulty, the deputy minister for communities.

The SURF Awards are well established as the major independent awards for community regeneration projects in Scotland. These are presented each year to projects judged to be doing outstanding work in some of Scotland's most disadvantaged communities.

The Centre was commended for "wonderful" partnership working, in particular with the local advisory group and Inverclyde Council's Community Development team. Long may it continue!
